RADOWCE
Radowce (Radauti) it's big, rather uninteresting market town, and at the same time one of the largest centers of the Polish population in Bukovina. Buses run from here to the monastery in Suczewica. If nothing is going in that direction, you can take a bus to Marginea and walk from there or hitchhike the rest 9 km to the monastery.
Orientation and information
The bus station is on boulevard Stefan cel Mare, one block from the train station on Strada Garii. You can walk to the center from both of them 8 minutes.
There is a 24-hour luggage storage room at the train station.
travel agency – The Agenda de Turism is open next to Hotel Noidic on the Strada Unirii, but it is not an intermediary in renting private accommodation and is of no use in fact.
Sightseeing
The Ethnographic Museum is located opposite the Nordic Hotel (Ethnographic Museum; open every day) with folk ceramics, fabrics and embroidered costumes. Traditional ceramics are made in a workshop in the courtyard in the center of the museum, which you can buy here. In the 14th-century church of Bogdan, the tombs of the first hospodars of Moldova have been preserved. On Fridays, there is a great market in the Rangers.
Gastronomy and night
Were it not for the terrible situation with accommodation, Radowce would be a nice base in the region of Putna and Suczewica. In the only hotel here, three-story Nordic (tel.030/461643), in the center on Piata Unirii 67, two without a bathroom costs 20 $. You can ask for private accommodation, especially if we managed to get in touch with the local Polish diaspora. It is worth thinking about small gifts in advance, np. souvenirs from Poland, Polish newspapers, etc..
The Nordic restaurants around the corner and the Intim near the tourist office are the best in town (which doesn't mean: sensational).
Journey
Direct trains from Suceava run to Radowiec every day (1,5 time.) o 8.19, 12.20, 13.50 i 17.22. Buses run from here, among others. to Suceava (4 daily, 62 km) and Suczewica (4 daily, 17 km), but not to Putna. It is better to ask about the departure times at the ticket office, because the displayed timetable is out of date. Tickets are bought not earlier than one hour before departure.
