PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Public transport runs regularly, efficiently and rather punctually, although its eternally overloaded wagons are irresistibly associated with dying wrecks. Buses, trams and trolleybuses run from 5.00 do 23.00. Routes are mostly numbered, and there will always be someone at the bus stop (it's best to ask a well-dressed person), who will advise, which line to use. Tickets are purchased at a kiosk with the inscription ticket or casa de ticket, and then it clears on the bus. Tickets are two-way, they are deleted every time they pass on one side. A fee for large luggage costs so much, what a ride of a person. Ticket prices do not exceed 0,30 $.

Taxis

State taxis are distinguished by a grilled pattern placed on the side; have counters showing the payment due. Private taxis with the letters "P"” or 'OP” on the roof they do not have meters and are more expensive, but it's easier to come across them. If there is no counter, it is better to set the price in advance. The official fare is 0,20 $ per kilometer.

PACKAGE TOURS

Sometimes it is worth taking advantage of trips organized by ONT, especially to places off the beaten track of hiking trails, but their offer usually covers only the summer period. Reservations are made at their offices or at the reception desks of luxury hotels. If interest is insufficient, trips are cancelled, and foreign tourists are usually not allowed to join Romanian groups.

Foreign ont representative offices organize a three-week stay in Romanian spa towns and trips to such ski resorts, like Sinaia, Busteni, Predeal or Poiana Brasov. All offers include accommodation in double rooms. (An additional fee is charged for one).
