MALIUK AND CRISAN
The Tulcea-Sulina ferry first stops in Maliuku (Maliuc), 27 km from Tulcea. The whole village consists of several houses and shops, dock and hotel Salda (20 $ from person). At the reception you can ask for permission to camp behind the hotel or just look for a quiet place by the river. Fishing boats are rented here for several hours of trips along smaller canals towards the north (10-15 $ in an hour.).
The next stop of the ferry is Crisan, 42 km from Tulcea, from where smaller ships run to Mila 23 and Caraorman. A kilometer upstream from the place, where the ferry is landing, on the other side is the top-class Lebada hotel, where a double room costs 42 $, and hotel passes are only accepted in summer. You can put up a tent in the vicinity of the hotel. Rowing boats are rented in the port (5 $ in an hour.). Preparing for a trip to the delta, do not forget to take food and water.
